Wednesday, I sent an entire packet of Madagascar art, eighty three pieces, to Scholastic. I have used up hundreds of pencil leads, reams of paper and cases of Diet Coke. Erasers? Don't ask.

And now I am tired. I want to do stuff but I don't have the energy. I think I just might take a day off.

Yep, I just might.

Actually my first reaction to the picture without seeing the caption, was "The Workers Have Stolen Liberated-For-Use-By-The-People My Brain!" Or possibly Wow... a green meteor, some gentle rain, a little MiracleGro... county fair, here we come!

If anyone deserves a day off it is you.

Stolen Brain

In "Glenda of Oz",there were a people called the Flatheads who carried their brains around in cans and power hungry evil individuals would steal cans of brains from others to increase their brain power. I'm sorry but that image just kept coming to my mind when I thought of Scholastic absconding with your brain.

Take some time off and read an old book or watch a favorite movie!
Sending prayers of peace and blessings your way.

Heidi! Hello!

I'd like to reread the Oz books. They were so strange and magical.

I just get so manic when I'm working. I mean, what could be cooler than drawing interesting pictures of exotic animals? I am going to toddle off and read for a bit. It's that kind of sunny day.

Marilyn.

I vote for a massage, facial and mani-pedi. followed by a root beer float.

Sweet, sweet rest

There is great wisdom in the keeping of a sabbath. I have developed a Sunday tradition of taking the girls to church and then coming home and taking a nap while [info]brainflak watches the kids. I used to feel guilty about this. Shouldn't I be doing some project, injecting the children full of family fun, or preparing nutritious meals to use through the next work week? But over time I have come to realize that the wisest gift that I can give to my family is to rest a bit.

All of which is to say, take a day off. Not only do you want to, God wants you to. ;-)

Marilyn, That just howls for a good caption, but I can't think of a THING! Love it,though (and love your portfolio, needless to say!) You have EARNED a bit of respite; head down, feet up, favorite music and a cup of tea, that's my prescription. Oh, and add a cat. Repeat as needed, minimum of six doses over 24 hours.

In reading a Scientific American a number o years ago- I borrowed a quote for the motto of my "world's smallest" toy store;
"Playfulness is a measure of intelligence."
Time to be intelligent! PLAY DAY (even if play means sleeping in and letting your brain play without your body bossing it around!
