How to Draw Scooby-Doo

.
Here's a viddy of Bob drawing Scooby-Doo.
.

.
Do you have a favorite Hanna Barbera character? Who would you like to see Bob draw? Pebbles? Tom and Jerry? Shaggy? Being a bookish nerd girl, I vote for Velma. :-)
.
Enjoy!

...and I would have gotten away with it, too, if it wasn't for you meddling kids.

We loved seeing Bob draw Scooby! Our license plates are "jinkies" and "zoinks!" And I vote for Velma, too! Marilyn, I work with kids daily, and they have loved making your toys! Thank you!

Awesome! ^_^ I vote for Josie & the Pussycats! That cat was so much my favorite that in grade school I laughed like him everytime!

Thanks, BK! Have you seen the live action Josie and the Pussycats movie? It is really quirky and has hysterical product placement. I recommend it!

The HB cartoons are the best. I watched them all! Hours of hilarity spent sitting on my parents ugly den couch---channel surfing-- pre- cable and pre-clicker, so we got up to change the thing manually---or I "beat-up/bribed" my little sister and made her do it. I seem to remember that channel 13 was a favorite one. ---Oh, the memories of 1960s-1970s "mindful" entertainment in Huntington Beach, CA. Thanks for the flash-back!!!

Are there any plans in the works to continue telling your faithful readers the continuing saga of The Toymaker, Patrin? I loved the first two books. Thououghly entertaining, and wonderfully told. The magic, escapism, and detail of time and place were exquisite. (And, yes, the clowns the flying poodles were creepy!!!) I hope that while we aren't hearing about Patrin, he is busy creating toys and experiencing new adventures that will oneday be shared.. (So, what's the scoop???) Personally, I think that you could have the makings of a great movie on your hands. A Huge FAN, Marion in Ohio

Marion! Hello! I remember the pre-remote days too. Do you remember when we got channels 28 and 52. They showed Speed Racer and Kimba. It was awesome!

You just warm my heart! I am currently rewriting the first Toymaker book to include more Clio. I think that she is a resourceful little girl and deserves more "screen time" Thanks for asking. (blushes) Off to write more.

Thanks again,

Marilyn.

Speed Racer and Kimba. . .YES!!! My sister and I still laugh at how the WIND whipped-by Kimba whenever he ran. (Today, Avatar, "gets the wind")---I even found VCR tapes of Kimba (just so I could see the wind). The sound tracks had been changed, so there was a little disappointment, but the WIND was still fantastic!---(Do you have Boomerang on your Cable TV?---they show old cartoons/shows---My sister was so excited when they showed the "Bananna Splits" show.---She's 45 now and three years younger than I am---she liked this one a lot!)

I'm glad that you are working on Clio. She's a gem. It will be fun to watch her grow. I'm having constant "flashbacks" now that I have my 14 and 10 year-old girls. Although their lives are at a different time, so many of the things that they are going through are what I remember---both good and not so good. There's a lot to learn at any age. C'est la vie! To memories!---Marion in Ohio

Thanks for putting up the video! It's about time someone started showing how it's really done. I'd like to see one where Bob does a couple of the monsters that he designed for the Scooby Doo show. I always thought it was really great the way some old caretaker of the old abandoned mine/resort/theme park/ski resort/etc... could put together such a perfect, creepy, fully animated, super realistic and perfectly operational outfit, scare everybody with it, and then end up standing there at the end with his head sticking out of it cursing the gang: "and I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those darn kids!" Let's see some MONSTERS.

Do you ever travel and do programs for libraries and such? We're always looking for good programs for our families. I do our storytimes and would love to use some of the illustrations for our crafts!

I occasionally venture out in public, depends on what it is and how far. Right now since the summer has been super busy I'm more trying to get as much drawing done as possible.

My rule about using the paper toys for programs is as long as you aren't selling them then print as many as you need. And if you take pictures of the toys being made and send them to me I'd be tickled pick.

Marilyn.

Thought of you when I saw this. You could be like that artist that did the store design for Prada!

Thanks K!
